Ah, the Throg's Neck. Why is it, I ask, that almost every GPS wants to take you over the George Washington Bridge??
When NOONE in their right mind wants to go over the George Washington Bridge?
Just sayin.
Yesterday was my follow up appointment with the surgeon at the Chiari Institute, in Great Neck, NY, which is out on Long Island. Interesting choice of towns, right?
I admit, I was a little nervous. I was concerned. It's been a year. I am pretty saturated with PAIN, if you know what I mean.
I had questions, and concerns.
Wondering if this surgery was going to have lasting effects for the rest of my life.
My doctor, Harold Rekate, said no. He believes that I will recover fully, and have no ill effects.
He says I need to be patient. (WHO has he been talking to, do you think?)
He said that when they pulled my C spine out of my brain stem, that my brain "sighed" in relief.
I hope this isn't too brutally graphic for you.
To me, it's a vision, a lovely vision, of my brain going 'ahhhhhhh'.
All good news, every bit of it.
While I was gone, the studio went to hell.
Sydney slept upstairs, while Jinksie took over her box like a land grabbing squatter.
And she looks so innocent, doesn't she?
This duct taped old envelope box has taken on a life of its own, I swear.
While I haven't been able yet to weave, I have been busy taking pictures of new Socketbooks, and putting them on my web site.
We have lots more of the small ones, like this one.
But now, in addition to the small ones, and the medium ones, we have large ones that are a small TOTE size.
I thought I loved the first two sizes, but these are the best, by far.
They are double stitched throughout, so they are sturdy.
While you are perusing large Socketbooks, just let me say that L is going kayaking tomorrow, WITHOUT ME.
Just so you know, L is not PERFECT.
Just sayin.
I wanted to go. She refuses to take me. Some silliness about it being too soon.
So while she is paddling around a lovely, mountain pond on the only sunny day on the horizon, I will be working on the computer.
That is wrong, wrong, wrong. And then she said, "spring is just around the corner".
Like that is supposed to make it all better.
On the recipe tab above, I have posted a few of my fave recipes, one of which is my late Aunt Stell's date filled cookies.
Today, one of my blog readers, a local customer of the shop, came by, and this is what she brought me.
Can we just say priceless????
I am practicing being in the here and now, and these cookies are in the here and now with me.
Say amen.
